Foundations, Mortar Beds & Drainage

A patio should never rock, shift, or pool water. Our installation methodology guarantees structural integrity:

• Sub-Base Construction: 100mm to 150mm of compacted MOT Type 1 aggregate over a geotextile membrane.
• Full Mortar Bedding: Every slab is buttered and laid onto a full wet mortar bed rather than perimeter dot-and-dab, eliminating air voids and cracking risks.
• Fall Grading & ACO Drains: Precision slope calculation directing surface water safely away from house damp-proof courses toward compliant drainage channels.
• Resin-Based Jointing: High-performance jointing compounds that resist frost damage, prevent weed growth between slabs, and maintain a clean finish.
